My life is guided by a passionate commitment to the Episcopal Baptismal Covenant which charges baptized followers to strive for justice & peace and respect the dignity of every human being, among other actions.

SPEAKING & PREACHING

More than anything, I am a storyteller. I feel sharing our stories without shame can be transformative. I am willing to speak about:

• upcoming book, The Itchy Sweater: Unraveling the Christian Anti-Transgender Argument;

• parenting a transgender child;

• helping wounded seekers return to Christian community;

• creating inclusive church culture; and

• advocating for LGBTQ+ equality.

CHURCH FINDER SERVICES

I’m sort of a spiritual matchmaker: I help people wounded by their church experience to return to Christian community. The stories I have heard are both sad and inspiring as these seekers didn’t stop believing, they stopped belonging. But they didn’t give up.

Because of scripture mistranslations in 1946, the Bible has become a weapon that some denominations have used to exclude or marginalize LGBTQ+ Christians. The harm is profound. Others are recovering from harsh, fundamentalist traditions and looking for a more loving and merciful expression of Christianity.

I am not currently accepting church finder clients at this time.

If you are a person of faith, I would cherish your participation on the new Peace & Justice Prayer Team to be either present at the Texas Capitol during public hearings or praying via a Peace & Justice Virtual Vigil. The energy at the Capitol is nothing short of wicked and we need sacred love to oppose it and support the advocates who are risking their physical and emotional safety in this public process.
